The collection includes annual reports, journals, and newsletters produced by the organization; correspondence and files of K. Brooke Anderson and Joe Wang; records related to campus activities during World War II; peace activities; and subject files. The materials are dated from 1881 to 1969.

In 1917 the university established the Brown War Records Bureau, whose intention was to "collect and preserve a record of all Brown men who are serving in the present war".
